Bissell Powerforce Bagless 6583 (10 amp) Upright Vacuum

This is a Bissell Powerforce Bagless upright vacuum, (which I believe to be from the late 2000s) that is used at where I work. This is a decent machine, and it's very surprising that this style of Powerforce has been in production for so long, even though they did get cheaper by dropping the headlight and using a smaller motor, but it's not bad. The crevice tool, and combo upholstery/dusting brush are missing but it doesn't matter, because they've never used the hose and attachments. It features a 10 amp motor with clean air design and features cyclonic action to keep filters clean longer. The suction is decent, the airflow is not the best because of the long fixed hose, and the agitation is decent. My complaint about this machine is that is how Bissell got cheap on the build quality. But I will say, it's a decent vacuum, and if only Bissell made their Powerforce the same with the headlight and the 12 amp motor, they would have a much better reputation.

We had one of these when I was growing up. Though mom has since bought a newer vacuum she still has this one and it still works! She uses it to clean her car, it has to be almost 20 years old! The best vacuum we ever had! I have a bagged version of the generation that was after this one.

One thing that I don’t like about those older Bissell vacuums, is that there’s no mode for the brush roll, like where you can turn it on and off. They just have the carpet height adjustment dual.

I've used a few of these Bissells. I like how lightweight they are and simple design. As you mention they are fairly quiet. I found the hose didn't spring around like a lot of them do which was nice. The only things I don't like is the filters are hard to clean and I personally noticed they seem to blow a lot of dust particles out and you can tell there is usually dust on the machine it blew out. The bagged version seems to take care of those issues though.
