I made this today and finished off by tempering with half an onion and a teaspoon of Zeera. This tasted exactly like the Chaney that are eaten with Halwa and puri for breakfast in Lahore - absolutely delicious and only took a maximum 15 minutes to cook.
I used two cans of cooked chickpeas with their water.
First time I have eaten authentic Lahori Chaney in London

I made them they exactly taste like lahori chikar choky we used to eat in Pakistan.... thanku so much sister for making them i ve tried many many recipes but never comes out even closer to lahori chany... this is it i loved that recipe and that taste... and i never usually comment on videos but this made me do it... hats off thanks alot once again

Really amazing and authentic recipe. Now in these days everyone is trying to pretend Thier self as master chef and uploading recipe's with title original lahori chikar chany and how that made normal anda kofta chany.
No one know what is exactly chikar channy.

I have a few questions, 1. Do we need to drain and rinse the soaked water and add fresh water for boiling?
2. It becomes too thick after cooling down, how to make it a little watery.
3. There is some weird taste of uncooked channas, how can i get rid of it.
