As a secondary school teacher, I had the misfortune to experience the gradual implementation of CfE. As one of our teachers said the day after the preliminary (light blue) guidelines were published, "It's not a Curriculum; it's not Excellent; but I can live with the word 'For'!" And it was downhill all the way from To this day there is still a disconnect between CfE and the SQA exams. Quite simply, fulfilling the one doesn't prepare the students adequately for the other. However, most sensible teachers know this, and they pay lip-service to CfE, whilst doing what's necessary from their own initiative to prepare their students for the SQA exams. Sadly, to enable students to get their Nat. 5s & Highers there has also had to be some 'dumbing-down' of the exams. There's no doubt that "the currency has been devalued". Re. your presentation, there's no doubt that you're correct about CfE being politically-driven, and the Health & Wellbeing guidelines are more than faintly ridiculous. More worrying now is the guidelines for RSHP (Relationships, Sexual Health & Parenting), which are largely a product of the 'loony left', and are likely to lead children into promiscuity and sexual experimentation of the most degrading sort. Maybe as the Scottish Family Party you should do a presentation about that?

Scottish physics teacher here (I've also taught in England). This is absolute garbage. I'm not saying that the CfE is good, but please don't let this nonsense colour your opinion of it.

What a load of utter rubbish. I’ve just started university after being one of the first groups of students to do the ‘new’ CfE National 5 and Higher courses in school. You’re being extremely selective with your excerpts and manipulating them to make the curriculum seemed ‘dumbed down.’ The curriculum is huge and you’re using a couple of twisted bullet points as proof.

Education is not perfect by any means but you’re making it out to be some catastrophic failure when that’s not the case at all. Very very manipulative

Could you please leave some specific sources for this information, ie were in the Scottish CfE did these anecdotes come from. I am highly skeptical of the premise presented in this video and would like to see the evidence used to come to this conclusion and exactly what the full documents say rather that the small snippets presented in this video.

This video is total nonsense "hours of therapy classes talking about feelings", and many similar suggestions made are lies.

You've clearly not set foot in a classroom.

I was among the first yeargroup to use CfE when it was brought in, at its most disorganised, and found it to be an excellent curriculum which gives teachers more freedom to teach effectively.

I was part of the first group of students that had to do the Curriculum for Excellence. I studied physics during high school and we covered everything that was on the other list. If you’re going to lie mate, at least try to be convincing.

Again I remember my junior years in high school (s1-s3) and how dull they were...in s3 i picked geography bc it was interesting at the time but it turned out that we got climate change for a whole year. genuinely it was painful
