This is unacceptable. We need stronger repercussions for blatant crime. These are not kids making mistakes or bad choices, this is done by repeat offenders who don't care about their community or anyone other than themselves.

And another city whose voters elected "progressive" politicians whose lunatic policies have resulted in rampant crime. Well, Spokane, you voted for what you wanted and now are getting what you deserve. My sympathy is reserved for the voters who cast their ballots for conservative candidates and now have to pay the price for your foolishness.

Thank you Chad for bringing the much needed attention to this issue that is threatening to destroy our downtown that we've spent so much time and effort to turn around and make a place people want to frequent. City officials, the time to resolve this is now, before more businesses leave downtown.

Sad to see small businesses close due to crime!! 😢 when it is your livelihood this sucks

Unfortunately your law enforcement doesnt work for your problems, the problem you have is stupid people in your city government. City businesses have to hire security companies as a new business expense, take what you give them outof yourB&O taxes that you pay the city and state.

Sad to see a business close, but it is a long time issue for Downtown to not have your business south of he railroad tracks, some business do quite well, but is seems to be harder in that area. Yes there are issues in the region but it is not unique to Spokane. Every city has this issue, especially in the western US. I speak with a lot of visiting business people almost every day and they all say that it is everywhere. Of course we all need to help and cooperate with tackling homelessness and crime. It is a multifaceted issue without a single solution. I am also in the downtown region almost daily and have never had a problem.
