The American response to Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine in 2014 and its electoral interference in 2016 cemented sanctions as America’s primary response to Russian malign activity. This panel will discuss the effectiveness and different angles (diplomatic, economic, and political) of the US sanctions regime on Russia. Former Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs and Former Ambassador to the United Nations and Russia Thomas R. Pickering will address the increased reliance on sanctions, both with Russia and Iran, in U.S. foreign policy and whether they are an appropriate substitute for traditional diplomacy. Daniel Ahn will analyze the economic impact of Russian sanctions and to what extent Russia has learned to live with – and get around – U.S. sanctions. Finally, Randi Levinas will discuss the political aspect of U.S. sanctions, especially the increased involvement of Congress in the implementation and enforcement of sanctions. Such a broad overview will provide an accurate assessment of America’s Russia sanctions program and whether it can continue to serve as the cornerstone of U.S. policy with Russia.

It's really surprising to me that there still can be found four people in the US with somewhat rational view of the sanctions campaign.

I didn`t really like the discussion, especially the poor presentation of numbers provided by Daniel Ahn - no insight about the methods of numbers calculation and research whatsoever. And also facts manipulation (or ignorance?) by Randi Levinas about "Russia denying the Jews a right to freely emigrate to the West" (the truth - not Russia but the USSR, and not the Jews but the "emigration tax" was intended for everyone who wanted to emigrate). But, anyways, I think Thomas Pickering should have run for presidency instead of Biden: his cognitive abilities seem to be 100 times stronger at the age of 89 than Biden`s at 78.

This is one of the most boring talks I had ever listened to. What difference does it make whether Russia has sanctions against it or not because clearly they found ways around such American sanctions by dealing with the Chinese the Korea ends and I ran as well as other Middle Eastern countries then Do not see eye to eye with the United States
The seems quite pointless I don't know why you bothered except that you're probably just getting bored or breathing too much CO2 with your masks on
