For anyone whos wondering, the " there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins" part of that verse simply means ➡️ Jesus Christ was the only and final sacrifice that was sufficient to completely pay for sins. There is no other sacrifice/atonement for sins other than His shed blood, which was shed 2000 years ago and payed for every sin you have committed ( past sins), every sin you are committing ( present sins), and every sin you will commit ( future sins). All who have simply placed their faith in Christ's finished work have been perfected forever, never to be lost, heaven bound. Hebrews chapters 9 and 10 give context and shed light on verse 26. Willful sin is about the Hebrews being on the verge of denying Christ and going back to the Old Testament law
(sacrifice, etc.) Because they were suffering persecution, these were born again Christians, but Paul warned them not to do that or they would lose their reward, not salvation.
The whole Hebrew letter is addressed to born again believer.

I once came across a statement’ that there are two castes of people - the aristocratic cast and the priestly cast. One is born without sin, when wrong doings are just a real-time misstep, enjoy life to the fullest. The other is loaded with the burden of original sin, has to be washed clean again and again and always live the repentant life and look to a life beyond and unknown.

Wanted to add on that sin is also an action that is committed against the law of God! We can even notice from the verse that the brother used that sin entered the word through one man, but what happened! That man DID( action) go against what the Lord had commanded. It’s sin whenever else go against the commandments of the Lord!

“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

Sin is “transgression” of the law. It’s an action of transgressing against what God has said.

But praises be to God that we have Jesus Christ who washes away our sin.


Another example to help you understand that that sin is an action, when the Bible says in Romans that where sin abounded grace abounded more. How can an identity abound, or when it says the people of Sodom and Gomorrah’s sin was so grievous, it was in comparison to how exceedingly sinful their deeds where!


Remember beloveds, that people who lived in a sinful way of life despite having come to Christ in the early church where given to Satan for the destruction of their flesh but that their souls may be saved. “It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, to deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”
