The crooks give free estimates for services that cost triple what they should. I was a consulting Civil Engineer and gave free estimates but mine didn't take long because I had a lot of experience. I first spent time investigating the potential client. People that had bad history got charged a lot more with a big retainer and payment in full before I turned over stamped drawings. A lot of people will be stiffing tradesmen from now on because of the economy. Good Luck, Rick

I am surprised this video is not viral. I thought I was revolutionizing my business in my area, charging for estimates for the last 7 or 8 years.
Looks like you beat me to the party by many more years.
Estimates should be charged for by all the trades. The customers, in my opinion, would save money and experience less scammers.
