What is Adamant?

Adamant is a mythical material legendary for its toughness, but what actually is it, and why does it sound like diamond?

Adamant ~ a species of Diamond (in fiction).

In that same fiction, it’s found upon the backs of Feathered Serpents - which look like Rattlesnakes.

Interesting. But no I do believe the only true form of Adamant is and will continue to be a black hole. It can't be destroyed and can't be stopped. But I don't know if they move or not.

Adamantium isn't adamant. rather its an alloy made partly of adamant.
