Gnome λλ (Double Lambda)

Testing the Propeller SVN to ensure it works on Steampipe, and an engine came out in the process.

The Gnome λλ was a two row rotary engine designed during The Great War. It was two rows of 7 cylinders, for a total of 14 and was rated at 160 hp. It was a further development of the Gnome λ (Lambda) which was just a single row of 7 cylinders rated at about 68 hp.

The Gnome λλ suffered many shortcomings and was only manufactured in very limited quantities. It was heavy, unreliable (wore out quickly in service) and had bad overheating problems. Most designs built around this engine switched to more reliable single row rotaries of a lower power output, or to a different type of engine altogether (V8 or Inline, and later in the war some early radials.)

Later in the war, more powerful single row rotaries made this engine obsolete, as they were able to meet or exceed the total horsepower output (Bently BR.1, Gnome Monosoupape 9, Bentley BR.2)

Awesome job dude! I made a little biplane in gMod once, it was procedurally spawned in via wire script. I had a simple physics rule on the props that determined lift at certain speeds!
