I grew up when landlines we're party lines. Shared phone service with another. Could hear others conversations. Later could pick up phone calls with a police scanner. So was suspicious of computers early and hearing about covering up camera about 30 years ago.

Again, excellent advice on how to have reasonable privacy in the current situation that tries to remove it from us all. ;-/ Thank you.

I have 3 mobile number for different people I call. How I grade
Super private phone - bank and direct family only
Secondary phone - work calls, friends, buddies, some retail, emergency calls
Third phone (low end) - places and people I don't trust but need to call sometimes, social media, insurance companies, govt depmts
all costs me less than $350 per year

That could be a way round it Rob great detailing on phone numbers, my 2nd number I keep for my docs, medical, any UK retailer or big chain companies.

My 1st number would be my bank, the internet. I also keep multiple bank cards to evade threats, looking forward to your new phone however looking forward to seeing it 💯

I refuse to give Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter or any of these social media sites my phone number. Sadly, Google already has it thanks to my stupid Android phone.

About 5 years ago I was successfully able to gather information of people in public places using public Wi-Fi by using a Wi-Fi pineapple I used the video for educational purposes on Facebook of course it got taken down but it was extremely easy I could even mirror what you were looking at on your phone.

Short answer: *TWO*
One exclusively for 2FA / MFA that is NOT shared with any of your contacts.
One for all your contacts and NOT 2FA / MFA.

If you're a high profile person and being monitored by the state, then remaining anonymous is nearly impossible and requires extreme vigilance.

If you live alone, and are choking, you must call for help from a landline if you want them to find you, otherwise you must give extensive directions to your location. Address, cross streets etc. It's frustrating. You also need multiple numbers so you can call for help when one number isn't working.

@ 15:17 where you talk about voice printing ....in the old cop movies a violator would make a call with a disguised voice. Don't they have that capability now days too ? Wouldn't something like that defeat the voice print ? Probably only a state agency nowdays would have that capability

Thank you Rob.
Sounds like there are really no exits from this prison. No doubt my
"patterns" are well known. They captured us all right from the start, didn't they?
Total evil deviance!

I don't know about all that but all the sudden every contact on my phone has a q r code. I never downloaded any tracking app or anything of any type. I can only assume it was done during an update? Android

I tried a prepaid phone in the USA and was blocked from using it, the service said that the phone number was not supported. Another time I tried to use a Google Voice number to signup for Uber and Lyft but both rejected the Google Voice number, stating that VoIP could not be used.
