I explain how I set up my excel spreadsheet as requested in response to my Test flight video.

*I am not a qualified flying instructor nor do I ever claim to be a very good pilot. I fly for fun and basically record for my own interest and review but upload because a number of people have asked me to. I do try to edit for enjoyment and story telling and this means that some content is not always included.*

I flew light aircraft for 46 years ( started early with a RAF scholarship) but gave up about 5 years ago when the cost of maintaining the Gypsy Major engine just became too much. I used to fly a Jodel then moved onto Robins (DR400) but finished owning an Auster then a Stampe. Watching your video reminds me just how much I miss flying even though I pretend, at least outwardly, I don’t. After a 5 year break I think it’s time I got back in the air!

Cheers Tim. Nice of you to give a shout out to Nick. I've been following him for a while now and you can imagine my delight now he has a C42. I've yet to get to grips with mass & balance, but appreciate why my lockdown weight gain had to be worked off so I could squeeze in under the 95kg limit my school has. I liked your landing comparison. It must have been fiddly to sync them together.

Thanks Tim. Informative as always mate. Very interesting the way they work the CofG out on the full size. I spend a great deal of my time flying RC models and teaching people to fly. I’ve experienced models with bad rearward CofG and believe me very interesting.Makes them very lively to the control inputs. So it was a lesson I learnt early on when building and learning to fly them myself. I’m off to Walton today for a week to see the grandchildren so will keep an eye skyward for you.

Yep an easy to use Spreadsheet helps to work out those tricky weight and balance issues. I made up a Spreadsheet on Excel which worked fine but any such system will do the job. Regards, Jim in NI

The weight & balance calculations shows every body has their moment (ba dum tish)
I thought the 4 landings looked consistant. You landed at almost exactly the same time as yourself.

Interesting that you too lost subscribers this week, I lost around 20 but only from my you tube studio, I have the app on my phone and they vanished in a flash, I wrote to You Tube total waste of time as I never really expected a reply and true to form nothing !! no reply, reading on if you have many tens of thousands of subscribers you gain certain privileges where You Tube may actually reply to an email !!! the strange thing was my subscribers remained the same on my main profile page but in the studio they vanished, when I looked into the analytics it did show I had not lost 20 subscribers so it was all very confusing, I have to say most of the numbers have returned but the two places still do not match up in subscriber numbers, sadly the more one reads into it the more bullshit you see I guess that's all part of this bullshit social media world !!
