The NASA Student Airborne Research Program (SARP) is a eight-week summer internship program for junior and senior undergraduate students to acquire hands-on research experience in all aspects of a scientific campaign using NASA's DC-8 or P-3B airborne science laboratories.

Thirty-two students were selected from across the United States to participate in the 5th annual Student Airborne Research Program in 2013.

Students work in multi-disciplinary teams to study surface, atmospheric, and oceanographic processes, and assist in the operation of instruments onboard the DC-8 research aircraft.

SARP takes place in Southern California at the Dryden Aircraft Operations Facility in Palmdale, and at the University of California Irvine.
