Is it just me, or does Paes style look beautifully classical? In an age of cloned looped backswings, windshield wiper forehands, and two handed backhands, Paes technique and style looks esthetic and entertaining to behold.
FYI, he is continental off both wings, but he lays his wrist back on the forehand, causing the visual illusion to be using an eastern grip.

I would say that Paes' grip is similar to Gasquet's.

Clean, no flourish, short, robotic take back. Easily imitated. Uses a volley grip for the backhand, like Navratilova. Notice, practice balls are hit straight at him and he responds with chip and charge backhands, not typical ground strokes. He is warming up his volley from the baseline.

Interesting, he appears to use a continental grip on the forehand?

Looks like all his forehand & backhand stokes are baseline volleys!

very unique technique on both sides! it's funny how he starts hitting forehands with a pendulum take-back (similar to McEnroe). I remember telling one of my students recently not to do that :))

He has a loop in his forehand. He just doesn't do it all the time when he's warming up
