You can see:
- the journey from Piazza del Duomo in Catania to the Riviera of the Cyclops,
- the stop to admire the Castello Normanno (in Aci Castello) and the cacti on the steep coast,
- the Riviera of the Cyclops.
Castello Normanno or Castello di Aci, located on a rocky outcrop jutting out from the sea, was built in 1076 by the Normans on the foundations of a 7th-century Byzantine fortification.
The Cyclops Riviera is a 12-kilometer-long stretch of coastline north of Catania, consisting of huge cliffs rising from the sea (even up to 70 meters high), which are actually large volcanic pieces made of lava. The largest ones are called islands and also include a nature reserve.
