Harvesting HUGE Tromboncino squash (Zucchino Rampicante)

Zucchino Rampicante squash, more commonly called Tromboncino squash, is one of my favorites in the garden. It is a no-nonsense low care plant that grows and produces like crazy. These plants that I show in this video were not even planted by me, they grew from some compost seeds.
The best thing about the squash is that it can be eaten young, just like zucchini or allowed to mature and be stored as winter squash. One thing to note though if you do not harvest the squash they will grow large very quickly and slow down production once they get to a very large size. I do find though that this particular squash plant variety takes longer to slow down then most others. So overall this one is a winner for me, and will have a place in my garden every year. it's really nice that it's a volunteer plant, so I know it likes my garden and maybe even likes me.
