Chrollo said plainly…. Once Zeno started to focus the aura in his hand, chrollo realized he simply does not have the level of nen defense necessary to tank his attacks. So he simply used an ability that would deflect the incoming attacks. The fact that Zeno figured out his ability without it being used should speak for itself…

What I love about hunterxhunter is the balance power system. Everything was explained perfectly. Nen is probably the well explained power system in anime history. And each character has its innate ability. And every ability has its own restrictions, limitations and conditions which makes it more logical. The more powerful you are. The stricter the condition of your ability has to be met and not just an asspull power up out of nowhere.

Maybe I'm too picky but I really dislike it when someone puts videos like these and cuts the dialog that is part of the fight. These are few seconds that makes the fight even more interesting since you see how they analyze each other and how each one is impressed by the other (High skilled fighters). HXH is not a "Boom boom lights and effects" anime, it's a serious anime filled with analysis and logic, and taking these dialog parts is basically taking out what makes HXH stand out of the crowds.
