Plymouth Avenue, known for racial riots in the 1960s, was a place of racial conflict long before due to the Jewish neighborhood and the anti-semitism in Minneapolis. The opening of The Way, a radical center dealing with Black and White racial issues in the late 60s, symbolized the changes of the community from a predominately Jewish community to a predominately Black community.

My grandparents lived at 1411 Upton north, they were bitter after the riots when the national guard stood down and let the rioters burn Jewish businesses. Minneapolis was the epicenter of American anti-semitism. Entire neighborhoods were redlined so that Jews could not own nor could they get jobs in Minneapolis. Earl was our Hebrew school teacher in St Paul. Linda was my good friend's mom in the '70s. Spike Moss epitomizes the blame others culture, and now Minneapolis' city council is Democrat socialist blame others take others culture, with George Floyd square still being a no Man's Land of sorts. Commendations to the Homewood arts fellow and Mrs Jacobs for holding on
