passing out from heat exhaustion is one of the worst feelings because it takes such a huge toll on your body but what makes it more excruciating is the cameras in their faces

We need a way to stop carbon monoxide from filling the car after crush panels break... Hope Next Gen fixes that

I passed out once donating blood, I bet I couldn’t last 10 minutes in a hot car, I don’t know how these drivers do it

Carl legitimately puked in his car from the carbon monoxide. Woah

The Kasey Kahne one is so sad. He couldn't enjoy his win, and the heat exhaustion ultimately led to the end of his career a year later.

They still have to race at Dega, Texas, Indy and Kentucky. In the summer. This is not going to be pretty.

It's one of the unfortunate things that come with being a race car driver is that sometimes a cool box quits and 130 degrees in there and stuff like this happens. But if anything let's use that opportunity to make us admire these athletes more because of how much willpower it takes to run race dehydrated from flag to flag all for our entertainment and their will to win to quote Kyle Petty that's incredible.

Even though these cars and trucks are very safe, there's little we can do about how hot it gets inside of these cars. Like Austin Dillon, and the drivers in the video, exhaustion is super dangerous.

I remember in 1998 when Ricky Rudd won at Martinsville and it was 95 degrees. Second degree burns on his feet, legs and back. He was interviewed in victory lane flat on his back hooked up to oxygen. These guys are tough, no doubt!

when the minds finally get relaxed and all of sudden realize the body was done for too long ago

And this is why I get so pissed when I hear people say, drivers aren't athlete's. These guys are total athletes....

Dale Jr and Truex Jr's driver change has always been my favorite change in the history of NASCAR. Think about it this way, had that been Bristol under the green flag, chances are they would only go three laps down, 2 to the stop, and maybe one for getting on pitroad. That's phenomenal timing when you put it in that perspective.

could you do best pit stop moments where the driver barely beats the pace car to stay on the lead lap?

I hope the idiots who say "Drivers aren't athletes" watch this video.
By the way you could've included the race Harvick's arm fell asleep and he had to be replaced

I remember when all the races used to be in the day with 12:30 PM starts and no cool boxes. I will never forget Junior Johnson standing on a block of ice in the pits as an owner as the Southern 500 when it was 100 degrees and the humidity approaching 90%.
