I just purchased an ambulance. I am selling personal items to put into the ambulance.

You’re right. My past 8-10 years, even the past 28 years have been “Groundhog Day”………..

The problem I’ve having is a hard time selling. - no one is buying. But, I’m not in a hurry.

I’m just going use the ambulance this summer for weekend camping to get aquatinted to the space. Keeping my build simple. Then, hopefully spend the winter months in the Southwest.

Ahhh !! Just got a text. My solar just arrived

I only bought small pieces of furniture to fit in my very small home. After around 500 dollars, using it for about thirty years, I have spent about 17 dollars per year on the furniture (500/30 years is about 17 dollars per year), I place one item outside on the curb with a sign every month. "Free. We are moving. Help yourself." My neighbors are benefitting and I feel better every day. 🥳

Thank you Bob! You posted this video at a perfect time in my life. I'm 23 years old and I've already started making changes in my life to become a full time nomad. I'm so grateful I found your channel at a younger age so I can live a more fulfilling life without going into debt first! I'm working on getting rid of what little I own now and reducing the few bills I have even more. I'm moving across the country in 2 months and I have to fit everything I need in my tiny honda civic! From there I'll start saving as much as I can for at least a year or two until I can buy my first RV or campervan. Thank you for the inspiration :)

Increases in food and fuel cost have made it difficult but I think I have achieved one year salary put away in the bank.

Some great advice even if you don’t become a nomad. Even if you are a few years from retirement, starting to reduce the amount of stuff you have is liberating. Giving away the extra stuff you have to others that need it more can be very rewarding! The idea of valuing travel and meeting new people over tending/acquiring your stuff really does make life better.

Making my plan now. In the purge phase now. Keep, sell, throw away, give away. When I look at all this "stuff" I realized it all used to be my money! I have put a screeching halt to any purchase. No more impulse purchases. Good luck to y'all. See ya on the road.

When I got divorced, I moved into a much smaller place. I still feel like it's too big and want to get rid of more stuff. I want to build my own camper, but working on doing some other things first.

Thank you. Great vid!!! 🌿 This advice is SPOT ON. I've already been nomading since 2014. It really increased my quality of life. The other day I washed my hair in the forest, using a spray bottle and a jug of water. There were animals watching me... squirrel, birds, and what looked like a baby chipmunk... 🤣 never shall I forget that beautiful moment.

Regardless if you plan to hit the road, save up that years income. In the last industry I was in we called it 'FU' money. Companies cannot take advantage of you if you don't need the paycheck to survive. That changes the dynamics of the work relationship. Managers always lean on crews to 'get stuff done' that is essentially unpaid work. Those of us with FU money would give 100% of our effort when the company was paying for our time and nothing extra. Managers would get guys with a boat loan, truck loan, and snow machine loan to do the 'unpaid' work because they felt like they had to.
Get your 1 year put away, it puts you back in control of your free time.

I’m working on full time nomad now. I work one week on, one week off, and on my time off I go nomad. Even in the east there are so many places to stay! The forest rangers in the national forests are very helpful in directing me to the best dispersed campsites. Any purchases I make are geared toward my goal of full time nomad. I love this life! This gradual transition has offered me the opportunity to find what works and what doesn’t. Thanks Bob and the whole crew for guidance.

Loved this video. I did a similar idea which works for me. I moved to a small town where my expenses are much smaller and my yard is large and beautiful. Bought a bus to travel and explore part time.

Simplify, is some of the best advice anyone can get. Get rid of what does not serve you.

I'm going to be living on the road full time this summer, part time for now. Still need to get the van finished.
