I have tried their inverted short strangle sometime back and the only difference I saw was that the MTM swings are not as wild as with the normal short strangle.

Selling short strangle and inverted strangle are exactly same in case of payoff. In fact in ITM options you will have low liquidity which nay cause you slippage and ITM will also require more margin and eventually will increase your turnover.

Completely Wrong ! Had you ever traded an inverted strangle you would have noticed the difference. ITM options are spared of IV spikes to a large extent. That makes it psychologically much easier to hold.
