Maybe vortex doesn't transfer due to the recent QOL change that makes it so that it passes through enemies, which obviously doesn't happen when genji deflects, so there might be something there

changing the style of the ow2 character portraits to look like ow1 style for the killfeeds was a nice touch

If the projectile and the vortex are both internally using the same projectile logic (they probably are), then it is possible the owner is set upon instantiation (as it should) but then the "projectile" that can be deployed (the vortex itself) is hardcoded to update its owner upon deployement but they forgot to do it with Ram's vortex.

i think a reasonable hypothesis is that a newer developer coded their own ownership system instead of just copying the data over for one reason or another. following this up with more recent bugs you can sense a sort of "style shift" in the technical details of how newer heros are coded following different methodologies compared to older ones. thank goodness for the failsafe and this will be far from the last time it saves a hero from being put on the 2-week bug bench.

I encountered something on the kill feed that makes no sense. It was on a custom game but I threw a damage orb at a hog and the kill feed said the hog had killed himself with the orb

The assist team assumption may just be the UI issue only.

The game has some weird UI assumptions in different places such as the ultimate confirmation (LMB to confirm, RMB to cancel). If you swap the keybind of primary and secondary fire, the confirmation UI will be incorrect. Ps. I tried it with Lifeweaver.
