Should you attempt open mock tests like Vision ABHYAAS?

UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most prestigious exams in the country. It has three parts, the Prelims exam, the Main exam and the Personality test, which you need to clear in order to become an IAS or IPS officer. All other Group A services of the Government of India recruit people through the UPSC Civil services exam itself and because of this, there is a lot of competition in this exam. Hence, your UPSC preparation should be strategic, informed and well planned.

Your UPSC preparation should not be based on blind adherence to any program. Rather you should give a thought about how your are preparing. The best way to go forward is to study the blogs and tips given by previous year toppers about how to go about UPSC CSE for all three stages of UPSC Prelims, UPSC Mains and the Personality test also known as the UPSC Interview, and then make your UPSC preparation strategy accordingly.

Doing static subjects like polity, economy, environment, geography and history for your UPSC preparation is a solid bet to increase your chances of clearing this exam. But this must all be supplemented by current affairs for best effect.

I gave abhyaas in 2023 got around 60-70 but ended up getting 96 in prelims, just give abhyas for getting the feeling of giving an exam in outside environment.

No matter what you score, just try to get one thing out of abhyaas or any mock test that you will manage to keep your calm during those 2 hrs and your common sense is with you during that pressure situation. Be concious about not to do silly mistakes. That's all an aspirant need to take from any test like abhyaas

I have taken Vision paid test…and I an fully agree with the observation and suggestions he made…. I feel that The objective of vision test is what you dont know or not interested in reading from static book…even which are not relevant for exam point of view…from this angle the vision test is crap…but I am attempting all test honestly online for only getting important current affairs topics which is useful to me even though I am getting marks less than 60.

Give abhyas to simulate exam day. That's it. I performed horribly in those tests, but the real exam day simulation is why you should give it. But pyq cannot be ignored

There is also another un-discussed issue about mock tests. While the offline students actually study and attempt the test honestly, the online ones cheat and get a score of like 130-140 easily. And since the rankings include both online and offline students so our marks as compared to toppers' will be extremely less. They should give a separate ranking for offline students.

True Sir, I gave 3 Vision IAS Abhyas Tests last year. Results were as
Test 1-
Paper 1- 48.3 marks
Paper 2 (CSAT)- 78 marks

Test 2-
Paper 1- 48.3 marks
Paper 2- 85.7 marks

Test 3-
Paper 1- 31 marks
Paper 2- 69 marks

Actual UPSC pre 2023
Paper 1- 80.14 marks
Paper 2(CSAT)- 48 marks.

So, there is no correlation between test series marks and actual exam marks.

Take tests as a way to value addition of something which u are not aware of or the silly mistakes that we often make even while studying relentlessly. Otherwise marks doesn't matter.
It's just for a kind of practice.

Sir, prelims 2023 m mere kaafi low marks h, , , but jb maine coaching walo se check kiye the tb mere aproax 68 bnn rhe the from 2 to 3 coaching, , but today I m shattered by seeing my poor marks 😢😢😢
