As a civil engineer: glass is NOT a weak material. The problem is that it's not ductile and you can't really visibly see if it's going to break soon, it just kind of happens and that's the end of it. One of the most important things we should ensure as structural engineers is that we see if something gives soon enough, so that we prevent it.

Marques: "There were professional baristas there"

Brandon: "right"

Marques "oh."

Back in 2019, I visited San Francisco (I’m from Argentina) and rented a Lime bike to look around Apple Park. While waiting at a traffic light, Tim Cook suddenly appeared crossing the street right there. I panicked and didn't ask for a photo, LOL, but I shouted, "Love you, Tim!" and he responded, "Thank you!" 😂

Having visited Apple Park, I can attest to the coffee situation. There's a whole Caffé Macs with the most elaborate coffee-making equipment I've ever seen.

The glass has wires running in the middle of the black joining pieces running vertical to provide power.

The carved handrail in the Steve Jobs theatre is also featured in several stores, namely Regent Street in London.

The round pizza box is featured in Apple’s “Underdogs” business YouTube video series.

Steve Jobs Theater: You are basically correct: Both electricity and /water/ are run through the space between the glass. The lights don't need a ton of wiring, but the are required to have fire suppression systems.

The food is overall pretty good. Though, I would say they're overhyping the coffee. It's good, but IMO not great...

And while it isn't obvious, there are plenty of non-apple products in 'enterprise-y' roles like room controls, definitely a few PCs in media rooms and specialized labs...

Man there's so many other secrets of this building that would be cool to share. I was apart of the team that built this building, but darn NDA, but there are some huge names that made parts in this building that no one knows about.

Marques should use a foldable at his next Apple Interview. A Samsung foldable would rub it in quite nicely, lol. 😝💯

I can imagine Tim Cook walking in on Marques holding a Galaxy, and Tim just slices his throat like Gus Fring 6:50 😂

The best thing i like about the apple park is that you feel one with nature. Not like raw nature but it feels like the tech can advance without harming the nature around idk how to define it. It made me feel good about the future of tech and sustainability, if thats what their goal was then they nailed it.

Those handrails are the same curvature as the iphones curved edges if you didn't know! It was steve jobs that wanted it like that in stores!

About the glass walls holding up the roof of Steve Jobs theater, the panels are so strong that even if every other one shattered and disappeared, it would still hold up the roof and not collapse.

i used to go to community college a couple blocks out of apple park. all the neighboring cafes in that area would always be packed with students doing work, so my secret study spot was the apple visitor center because they have some nice outdoor tables with shade that no one would really think to go to on a weekday afternoon LOL

Regards the services in the ceiling of the Steve Jobs Theater, both the electrical wiring and the plumbing for the fire sprinkler system run through the beading between the panes of the glass - the plumbing was specifically designed for this use case, pretty remarkable feat if you ask me, as a mechanical engineer
