Barn Owl call

Here is our gorgeous Billie having a chat with our head Falconer. As she is hand reared (we have reared her from 2 weeks), she often thinks she is a human with wings. This isn’t a common call for Barn Owls, but still pretty adorable 🥰

I heard this sound when I took a walk through the woods that surrounded the log cabin my family and I were staying at for a vacation in NH at the very end of the day. Nearly shat myself because I thought I was about to stare Death in the face, like I was hearing the screams of a banshee!

Absolutely beautiful bird though. It's amazing how the wings of an owl make completely zero noise, they're truly incredible hunters.

I moved to an old house formerly a parsonage, and the church next door had an old steeple where barn owls nested. At night the would fly between the buildings and scream like that. Being from the city, I didn’t know what it was at first, and it scared me to death!

My friend and I were camping in the middle of the woods a few years ago, sitting by a bonfire at 2:30am and we heard this behind us. We both got up and noped tf back to our group.
