These are the books I use most often when teaching beginner adults and teenagers (in order of most used):

This is the only book you’ll ever need on technique:

These are both excellent guides to music theory, and very readable. I particularly like the Edly’s:

This video has been so helpful and encouraging, thank you for taking the time to make it! The birth of my granddaughter inspired me to learn the piano again after 40 years ( I was sadly one of those 12 y old quitters 😞) I want to be able to help her discover the joy of playing an instrument and have also been taking her to weekly music group classes since she was 6 months old. I’ve just signed up for lessons for myself starting in May and will be applying your great advice as I restart my piano journey. Best wishes from Cape Town, South Africa.

Great advice as usual! I had to laugh at tip #1 as my mother couldn't carry a tune in a bushel basket and had no sense of pitch or rhythm. She used to sing to me and my brother as punishment, or if friends were around as a way to embarrass us.

Some great advice. My 6 Year old daughter loves watching the Queen of the night, singing from Mozart's opera, The Magic Flute. Go figure 🤔

What age would you recommend starting formal piano lessons? We all hear about three year old prodigy Mozart, but what about the average child whom we want to encourage to be hard-working! Four? Six? Thanks for any advice. Love your channel! All the way from cleveland, Ohio USA!
