NYC air quality: How to deal with the smoky conditions

Officials are urging New Yorkers to stay inside as the smoky conditions from Canada wildfires continue, and if you do have to go outside -- wear a mask. FOX 5 NY’s Raegan Medgie has the story.

From a Northern Californian who lives within 30 miles of three "mega-fires" since 2018, stay in if you can and wear an N95 to keep that fine ash out of your lungs. Save your outdoor exercise routine until its over. That stuff gets lodged in them and it's there for good. Another tip - get some blue painter's tape if smoky outside air is seeping in around your windows and doors and tape them up until it passes. Invest in a good large area air cleaner too. Smoke like that is no joke. But yeah, its your lungs so if you don't care that's your business.
