Hi Karl, do one need to mandatorily lodge new EOI for vic if current one is expiring prior to June 2025?? As vic FAQ has mentioned this

“ Please withdraw your existing ROl and submit a new one. You must create a new EOl if your existing one is expiring within the next 12 months.”

I think immigration should have the application system like before, online and in office. So that who ever wants to apply online they can apply online and who ever wants to go to office they can apply from office, that time at least there would be a limitation the work on time.

Karl, the issuance of visa after selection is really inefficient. How on earth can they take, for example visa189, 19months to process 90% of the visa submitted. Do the talk of priority and serious shortages really means nothing to them. And those long processing time seems to point the finger at the applicant and external agencies. But then if they did not submit the those documents they wouldn't be in the process. Something is not right because this is affecting nation and this serious shortage of skilled migrants are affecting the economy.

i am a mechanic definitely have biasness in my view but i haven't seen any good mechanic inlocality or melbourne either, the whole of australia is in shortage of mechanics and those are there out in the market don't know their work well, so why mechanic's can't be seen in priority lists . Australia immigration system is not very strong.I come to Australia with my wife on a visitor visa 600 during the Covid pandemic and we have a baby here and every day we are working for cash in our hand and we keep extending our visa

So I assume these new 3000 Mates visa holders do not need accommodation in Australia, only international students who need accommodations and make a housing crisis here.
