G7 Summit: PM Modi's 1st Meeting With Canadian PM Justin Trudeau Amid Khalistan Row | India Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Brindisi Airport in Italy's Apulia region on Friday to attend the ongoing 50th G7 Summit. This marks PM Modi's first foreign trip since being sworn in for a third term.

Taking to X, PM Modi said that he has landed in Italy to take part in the G7 Summit. "Looking forward to engaging in productive discussions with world leaders. Together, we aim to address global challenges and foster international cooperation for a brighter future," he tweeted.
During the summit, PM Modi is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Modi is likely to meet US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the summit, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said.

Italy extended an invitation to India to attend the summit as an outreach country. This will be Modi’s fifth consecutive participation in the G7 summit, with India having attended ten previous summits.

it takes a lot of work and energy to engage global leaders and establish that level of confidence and trust that India is a key player at the global stage. Come to a strategic understanding. Modi and his team have worked on it in past several years and the foreign policy has been awesome! Hence Meloni invited India even though we are not part of the inner circle. it is an important part of political leadership. Modi has succeeded in it and hopefully continues that strong presence in the 3rd term too. Modi and team deserve that credit.

I like to send this message to prime minister Modi and prime Trudeau. Please be mindful there are some Sikh Khalistans leaders who in reality are drug dealers in Canada and the US. They stayed hidden under the flag of Khalistan for quite a while. India also have to understand that there are still a lot of Sikhs who don’t support Khalistan and they support India.
