The idea that we still have debates over corporate marketing being tied to race despite a century long amount of evidence is hilarious and just further proves the point.

Hating on a baller that’s had a chance of growing your league is crazy lol

The commissioner of the WNBA needs to try to calm this stuff down before most fans get turned off by the ridiculous comments. Get that money now while you can.

I’m an African-American man and I never made it a point to watch multiple women college basketball games until I saw Caitlyn Clark play and I certainly never made it a point to watch a WNBA game debut until Caitlyn Clark. Simply put, she is the real thing!

In 2020, after being selected No. 1 by the New York Liberty, Sabrina Ionescu signed a multi-year deal that included a signature shoe with Nike. Why the issues now? Caitlin Clark came with her fan base that buys jerseys, tickets and viewership. Not just talent. The WNBA has talent, probably greater than CC. Where their fan base at? Stop complaining. Business is booming. Don’t f*** it up!

She isn't just popular because she's white. There have been plenty of white women that have played in the WNBA and none of them have come any close to Caitlin's popularity. A lot of us watch her because she has an entertainment value that none of the women that've played before her have ever had.

Kelsey Plum held the record and i never heard of all the fanfare surrounding her college career! And she has 2 rings already in the WNBA!

Race plays a very big part ....And that's not a knock against the person. Caitlin Clark, Abby Steiner, Christian McCaffrey, Eminem, Larry Bird, etc. all they do is work on their respective crafts and are/were good at it. The problem is that they get to be "America's Sweetheart ". But when a Coco Gauf, Naomi Osaki, Serena Williams and Venus before her come along they never were "Americas sweetheart"?. How about Simone Biles? Dawes who Beautiful, classy Skilled...Anything?..All they ever did was win medals/ Trophys for America in international competition. How about Misty Copeland actual perfection how SHE not? Let's be honest with ourselves.

Catlin is the female version of the great white hype nothing wrong with but lets call it like it is

This would sound good if Sabrina Inonescu didnt already have a Nike

Not only did Serena Williams and Micheal Jordan etc... happen...before Caitlin Clark it didn't happen for Brenna Stewart, or Kelsey Plum, or Diana Taurasi, not to Clark's level. So the race thing is completely debunked. It sounds like sour grapes of course because despite everything she is done a rookie has come into the league and is more popular. If she feels away about it, I don't blame her. But she needs to handle it better and don't say petty things.

Caitlyn Clark’s popularity is PRIMARILY BECAUSE SHE IS A WHITE GIRL, but it’s not the only reason for it. Eminem and Tiger Woods were given initial attention because of their RACE, but their TALENT gave them sustainability!

I never heard of Caitlin until Angel Reese put her hand in her face and white people got mad

This is easy to break down....If Caitlin Clark was black, would all these millions of new "fans" even exist?
If she was black, would all these millions of middle aged white people(That ADMITTEDLY, never even cared about basketball) be so tuned in?
Answer that question honestly, and there's the answer

I believe C.Clark is an OUTSTANDING Basketball Player.however, it MOST DEFINITELY help that she's white. Personally, I believe Most white people don't want to talk about race an that's understandable because if we really had a HONEST CONVERSATION about race, white people would have to look at themselves in the TRUTH MIRROR. By the way, I'm a middle-aged aged white guy. Love your show Doug.

Doug is spot on, as we had more media folks with his honesty.

She's telling the truth.. You are comparing her to champions..And She ain't Won a damn thing ..

There is something to what she is saying. White spectators might have more of an affinity to her, not a crime.

Of course race plays a role. For Doug or anybody else to say otherwise is ludicrous. Next Doug will try to convince us that politics isnt important. Of course CC can transcend initial hype, but Tiger Woods made headlines early because he was a talented young black golfer, not because he was a talented young golfer.

Aja Wilson is so ungrateful because if it wasn’t for Caitlin Clark coming to this league she would never would have gotten this shoe deal
