How to use the shotgun against the Alien

The smartest thing you did here, was take only one shot to disorient the xeno, and quickly and quietly found the nearest hiding spot. Well done, as i think most people would just keep shooting it until they emptied the shotgun.

The shotgun and molotov combo is a good alternative to the flamethrower if you're trying to conserve fuel.

That was the one part of the game that took me out of it. We’ve clearly seen shotguns are very potent weapons against the Aliens, yet this one is still in god mode no matter how many times you shoot it.

Also when you discover there are multiple aliens on the station, that’s when the game should’ve shifted slightly and you can kill them now.

I get the theme of the game is horror so they made it impossible to kill the xenomorphs but it's total bullshit the revolver, shotty, pipe bomb, and flamethrower and molotov don't kill it but you can kill the facehugger

And this is why I always hated this game. Hicks' shotgun proved several times that xenos die to them.
