What a BS reason "he had a rough childhood so he gets more acknowledgement (by giving him gifts)".
Every child should be equal in a family, no excuses.
Sure, he might have had a rough childhood, but that still doesn't justify him being treated all entitled.

Now that was an amazing revenge plan by OP genius of him to give counterfeit money

I was willing to believe it until the fake money. The parents would have turned him in and he'd be going to trial.

story had my attention right up until it reached the part about randomly knowing a guy who could counterfeit thousands of dollars, conveniently wrapping everything up in a nice, quick little bow with zero consequences to OP... sounds like a fantasy ending, its so out-of-wack with the rest of the story that it makes the whole second half of it sound fake, which in turn makes the entire story sound fake.

Counterfeiting on that scale would send the Secret Service to your apartment within Days, ESPECIALLY if it was spent at a Casino where they take making money so seriously that they'd sue you for sure on top of the counterfeiting criminal charges. the parents would also sue, the brother would sue, that's not a story-ending moment that's a life-ruined-for-OP moment. it just sounds like the kind of ending a 12-year-old would come up with to end this story, zero understanding about how the world actually works

It is parents fault because you need to be careful when you adopt a child or bring home new brother / daughter. You need to balance the love be mindful of the child already at home 😊

I love OP's solution to his "Steven" problem

Good story until the ending. Should have sent them play money or monopoly money. Counterfeit gets the Feds involved. Overall, story sounds similar to many of the Golden Child stories. But still a nice break from the cheating stories.

Fake as story, the cosp will definitely track that money back to him😂

It's unbelievable how your parents favored Steven so blatantly. You did the right thing by moving out and standing up for yourself. Sending them fake money was a brilliant move, they needed to face the consequences of their actions.

Ok story until the counterfeit currency. Just talking about it like he did is enough for the secret service to show up at your door

The money I gave you was as fake as the love you showed me.

Are we honestly expected to believe that OP just happened to know a professional counterfeiter in college? And that he was able to get thousands of counterfeit bills from him without any problems? That Steven and OP’s parents didn’t point OP out to police as the one that sent them thousands of dollars in counterfeit cash?

I could have believed this story was real if not for those massively glaring plot holes.

There is absolutely no way that OP could have gotten that kind of fake money without having to put his own neck on the line. Or that the police, FBI, Interpol or whoever would be the go to for counterfeiting, would settle for just arresting the one person that happened to have that much in counterfeit bills when he walked into a casino. Nope. Any law enforcement agency worth their salt would be setting up a sting operation to get to the bottom of it.

I’ll give it a 6.5 out of 10. It started off strong, had a decent balance in the middle, but just couldn’t stick the landing.

Damn right love ❤️ this brutal way of getting him back 😅😂

Something is fishy about this story. If he hadn’t seen Steven for 5 years since he was 16 then how would he know Steve would spend it on casinos?

doesnt make sense if the money doesnt get tracked back to OP

The real a**holes here are the parents. The little brother is a brat but at least his attitude makes sense from a psychological standpoint, he was an abandoned kid. The parents on the other hand were adults from the start and prioritized the little brother from the start and disregarded their other child.... but the end of the story sounds FAKE AF...
