Another winter storm rolled through our neighborhood last night, and that was a perfect opportunity to see just how well a Tesla can handle not just cold weather, but deep snow that buried other cars up to the doors. Here's how it performed!

When it's not icy (or rush hour) driving in the snow is a blast.

Wiper “button” is on the left stalk. An actual button. It’s as easy as using a turn signal.

You DON’T need to use the touchscreen to manually activate the wipers.

The windshield wiper thing really bothered me until I figured out that you can push the button on the end of the left stock (turn signals) on the steering wheel to activate the wipers. No need to go through the menu anymore.

Scrunchy sounding snow is the best snow.

Thanks for the fun plowing video! BTW, we've got a 2020M3 and we have no issues turning on the wipers. Try these 2 things - the hard one is first: Push the button on the left stalk and not only do the wipers come on but the control icon pops up on the screen so you can pick any setting you want. The easiest way for me? Tap the right scroll wheel and say "Turn On The Wipers". Or "turn off the wipers", or "set the wipers to auto". Voice recognition in our car is stellar and it can do a lot of what you want done without searching through any menus or looking for any icons at all. "Turn on the driver seat heater", "set cruise to 75", "play Eagles Fly by Sammy Hagar", "what's my tire pressure". Without a doubt, that right scroll wheel is possibly the best control in the car. Well, maybe except for the right watt-feed pedal. :)

I just put a set of those Cross Climates on my wife's Sedona. They're awesome tires! Perfect for us in New England with all types of weather.

I had no idea Tesla was so good in snow! Very impressive!

Two things... Rain-x for the windshield will make that snow slide right off, and the button on the end of the left stalk works spectacularly well for this situation you are in where you don't want the wipers on consistently.

I have the cross climate on my 2019 Subaru Legacy, I’ve been in almost 1 foot of snow, they are great tires for what they are designed for . Never got stuck . Awesome tire in all weather

We had 12" of snow in SW Washington last week, and our Model YP was really good in it, tramlined a lot in the ruts, but had no issues at all... even with all-season tires (we have never put snow tires on any car we've had here).

One of my favorite things was to take my 4x4 truck out after a big snow where i grew up in Michigan. Out in the country you actually have a chance to practice driving in snow and learn vehicle control. Now that i live in South Carolina, if we get a few snow flakes they shut down the entire state!!

I can’t believe you guys still don’t know you can tap the left stalk to not only turn the wipers on, but it also brings up the controls on the screen. You’re welcome! 😂

The biggest problem in SNOW (after tyres) is the undercarriage hitting the snow, causing the car to lift and tyres lose traction. If you don't have much ride height, all the great snow tyres in the world will not help. They'll just pin as vehicle gets high- centered. I wish the Model 3 and Y had adaptive suspension with a ride height adjustment for snow etc. If you had a set of Vredsteins or Nokian Hakkas, that Y would be like a snowmobile.

Windshield wipers are safety feature. There is no logical reason to make the windshield wipers part of the touch screen controls. Especially since you have to go through at least two different screens to get to the windshield wipers.

Watching TFL videos during winter time and seeing so much snow everywhere made me want to take the family there. I'm here in Texas and we just got a lot of snow and were without power for 4 days. No jealous anymore. Still love TFL content.

You can use the left stalk to quickly use the wipers in an emergency.

In west Texas where we get snow maybe 3-4 time a season, the locals love waking up to see the Hallmark-esq front yards and snow-covered, perfectly manicured frosty streets. So charming. So warm (so my wife would say!). I can’t help but imagine her reaction upon looking out and seeing mangled roads and a quiet little red car going up and down the streets just wearing the place out! That would be priceless! 😂

Excellent! This is the video I've been looking for! I live in Minnesota and I just moved to the end of a 1/2 mile dirt road. They plow, but not until about 3PM, so I need to be able to go over 6" of snow or so.

"The CrossClimate² is Michelin's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, station wagons, crossovers and SUVs looking for daily driving comfort combined with confident performance in dry, wet and light snow conditions. The CrossClimate² is designed as an all-weather tire to meet industry severe snow service requirements qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance and is intended to function as a one-tire solution for drivers that experience all four seasons but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire."
