Found out I had wpw syndrome, honestly it’s a relief to finally know what’s causing my high heart beat, dizziness and my blackouts. But it’s freaking scary to know that my episodes were more severe then I thought

I found out i had WPW 15 months ago, , , , sudden cardiac arrest at home, was a relitivly fit 51 year old at the time, never had a single symptom in my life before, never even heard of WPW Only saved by my wife and son giving me 17 mins cpr while the ambulance turned up, went in my sleep at 7am didn't know a thing about it, only still here because my wife was running late and heard my death rattle as she was leaving, spent 7 days in an induced coma, , haf the ablation before I was able to leave hosp, no hypoxia injury and have made a full recovery, , , , thank God and the British NHS ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm so happy my mom caught this early! I got diagnosed when I was a toddler and my mom saw an episode happen and asked what was wrong and I said my heart hurts. Cleveland clinic had me wear a monitor for a month and they diagnosed me. My adult cardiologist confirmed its still active and here's to hoping I can stay off meds/avoid surgery 😅

I was diagnosed with WPW at 10 but got my first episode at 8 and never told anyone because I was afraid. My first ever episode ( I think ) was when I was playing baseball with my brother, my heart started beating rapidly, I had cold sweats and I was getting chest pains and dizziness. The day I was diagnosed was when I was playing football with my cousin, all I did was get up and my heart started racing and went as high as 290 BPM. I was terrified so I told my mom and we drove for an hour to the hospital where they told me I had WPW. I was also wrongly diagnosed when I was a baby. I actually got my first episode in my younger years (can’t remember now) and the doctors told my mom that I had asthma which was obviously untrue. So now I’m twelve, no surgery done yet but my dream is to become a pediatric doctor and help children who have similar conditions❤

I had wpw. No symptoms till 2 years ago. I had pulled an all nighter the night before. I got up out of my chair, an activity that normally raises heart rate. It didn't stop raising. I tried to just go and sleep it off, was about 9:00. Fell asleep an hour later. The MOST PAINFUL hour of my entire life. I slept until 12:00, woke up again, heart still racing and in excruciating pain. I got up and told my parents. They called 911 and I refuses the ambulance. (Avoiding big bill for my parents.) Dispatch sent a nurse to wait at the nearest clinic which was 8 miles away. It just so happens that we were having one of the worst snow storms we had ever seen, so my parents call their friend to come in their truck.(we were about a mile out.) They took us to the clinic. They had me blow through a straw which was unbearable and did nothing. They gave me an IV and injected adenosine. Basically a drug that resets your heart back to normal. It worked. A few months later I got an ablations and now I'm fine.

Humbled, I have it also and I can’t have mine ablated found out I had it when I was 15 now 25 and the problems it’s caused through the years lead to random tiredness and panic attacks which caused random shut downs and fainting or blacking out and not knowing if you’re gonna wake up day to day our hearts always beat but will never know when ur asleep. It’s a serious condition but must be takin with a grain of salt, our hearts beat everyday on the second and anything you do could lead to you’re demise. My quote is "live everyday as if it was you’re last" ❤

I was diagnosed at the age of 15. I had radio frequency catheter ablation when I was 16. They kept putting it down to panic attacks at first. One day I passed out at the train station and was rushed into hospital and that’s when I was diagnosed.

I have this. I just found out yesterday. I have to wear a heart monitor for 30 days so they can monitor my heart and figure out what treatments need to be done. Right now, they're not sure if I need any procedures

Video is misleading, an ablation is not a surgical procedure.

Did anyone take Bendectin when you were pregnant? My son was effect with this 41 years ago and the Gov removed it from America due to heart problems.

Ablation does not always work, especially if the pathway is in a critical area. I was only able to get part of the pathway done because of the location, so I still have symptoms. It occasionally still acts up, like a yoyo feeling many times

My 8 year old almost died at 3 weeks from wpw! We took him to the hospital thinking he had pneumonia and as soon as they hooked him up his heart was beating at 300 bpm.
