I know of a guy who did modeling when he was younger. He didn’t last long bc his mom didn’t allow him to go anywhere without her. As a kid I was like “aww that sucks man” as an adult I’m like “damn she was a good mom”. My daughter wanted to be actress when she was younger. I encouraged her. Got her lessons, took her to productions. She got some small parts she had a good time. At no time was she ever out of either me or my wife’s site. Parents need to stop living through their kids and treat them like they are kids. They need protection bc others may want to harm them.

I'm 50 now, but as a kid i used to go to an acting club and do some part time acting jobs. I remember going to an audition in a soho studio for a channel 4 film. Can't remember the name of the film. I was about 13.
The director had me read out part of a script from the film. The scene was a group of kids skinny dipping at the seaside.
I read the script out, then the director asked me to take off all my clothes 'to see if i was comfortable with the part'.
This was the 80s and I wasn't a posh, brainwashed theatre school kid, i was a clued up little cockney estate kid, so i called him a 'dirty fking nonce' and left.😂
But i bet plenty of theatre school kids got naked without a second thought. I reported it back to the agent and the agent said He'd done nothing wrong and to not talk about it.
I didn't get a single audition after that. Not 1 call.
Dream career over at 13. I guess you could say, i was cancelled.
I'm a sparky now.😂
The film industry is jam packed with wrongens. Always has been. And if you say anything (even as a kid) you're blacklisted.

EXACTLY. This is the very reason I left Hollywood. I worked on a set of a film for 6 plus months and what scared me the most was how blurry the lines became between adults and young girls. Before the experience, I had worked so hard to get there. But after the experience, I thought to myself, this is no good for my soul.

Reps and agents were after both my kids. We said NOPE. Many people thought we were silly not allowing them to make money young. There is not enough money that will erase those things and give you back a safe childhood.
