Your response to the young man trying to take your head off was beautiful. A lot of folks try to answer back with heavy shots to the head but your approach favored was leg kicks, punishing shots to the body, and most importantly deceptive head movement to make him punch air. Even though he was in great shape he was absolutely exhausted at the end of the round. This is a great lesson in fighting overly agro opponents, AND in finding ways to turn what could have been a chest beating contest with a teenager into a genuine lesson. The more I watch of your content the more I admire you as a martial artist and teacher!

what i ve noticed is that the other guys were trying to hit strike combinations they had prepared but you were more in flow reacting and replying to those combinations with more open mind and flexibility, that made you win every time.good job

We had a guy that came for a few times in our gym, one day he went hard sparring on a girl weighting 1/3 of him.
She didn't say a word, neither did we.
But the next round he was paired with a semi-pro boxer with infinite stamina that would spend most of his days punching holes in the bag.
This story ends with the first guy never showing up in the gym again.

I remember GSP saying something along the lines of (to paraphrase) "Some people leave their entire careers in the gym." and the first guy is an example of just that. Your composure is commendable. It takes great skill & emotional intelligence and to deal with a loose cannon like that. Young fighters need to learn the importance of controlled sparring. Coaches need to emphasise this on young fighters too.

I had the exact same experience today. One of the guys at my gym who is physically a lot stronger than me was going super hard. I decided not to fall into the trap of escalating the situation so I kept my lighter pace despite continuously getting bombs thrown at me. Then he asked me to go harder cuz he wanted to workout. I was like nah and just kept going at my own pace nice and technical. In the past I would have been very emotional but I’m pleased with how I maintained my composure. Gotta say it’s thanks to what jeff and my other coaches taught me about manners during sparring.

Mmashredded always showing what the whole sports about rather than just showing people punching each other in the face👍🏻

That sparring round with the teenage boy was very instructive, instead of matching his very ferocious energy you stuck to punishing him where it matters on his legs when his weight shifted, all while being illusive with the head movement. I’m currently training and I look up to you. Keep improving the martial arts world!

Dude that's awesome because even when is a "bad" experience and you are "out of shape" you stayed composed and technical as hell, it shows that what you teach really works! even under pressure, your fighting style is so effective.

You’re such a humble fighter. A true sensei. Much respect.

That first guy (the 16 years old) goes hard, but I can see that he barely moves to the sides - only going straight forward to take Jeff's head off. On the other hand, Jeff is constantly throwing punches and kicks on angles with almost 95% of accuracy. You are a beast Jeff! And I really take a lot of knowledge from your videos during my MMA sparring sessions!

Those young fighters go all out because their injuries heal after a protein shake and 8 hours of sleep lol.

It's actually crazy how much control you had over him. From the insta clip I thought he was just blasting the entire time but you pretty much neutralised his offence without being completely offensive yourself

morrocan dutch fighters tend to have a very agressive style, its quite known within the kickboxing community, i liked the way you handled him

I noticed the last guy made you fight a bit differently than the others because of his quick and precise leg kicks. He has a very efficient calm style

It’s always frustrating to go up against guys like that because once you start going hard like you did towards the end, they start saying time out or the round is over. He might be young but those are the ones you humble
