I have that shelf and the smaller ones all over my house. IKEA stuff is cheaply made but those are quite sturdy once assembled. Just leave them be and don't move them all the time and they'll last. Make sure you use coasters for your drinks. There basically a saw dust and styrofoam blend pressed into boards.

this reminds me of the shelf that L1games did here on youtube. he was particular about wiring up the systems properly. he also didn't leave controllers plugged in. i like that you have them plugged in and ready to play. metaljesusrocks also keeps his controllers unplugged in a cart/drawer.

This room is AWESOME! Hopefully when I'm older, I will have a room like this just invested on retro games because I'm 13 years old and I love retro games and have wanted to collect them for years now, so you sort of inspire me James. BTW awesome video!
