HP Envy x360 15 (Ryzen) Review

Lisa Gade reviews the 2021 HP Envy x360 15” with AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs inside and Radeon graphics. This is a Windows convertible with 360 degree hinges, a touch screen and active pen support. It’s a very good deal starting at $659 with an aluminum chassis, color calibrated full HD IPS display, fingerprint scanner and upgradable internals (though HP describes it as non-user upgradable, we show you how). The laptop is aimed at creative consumers looking to do photo editing and drawing along with the usual productivity tasks. HP does also offer it with Intel 11th gen Tiger Lake CPUs and up to a 4K display.

HP Spectre, Elitebook and Envy lines are so beautiful, powerful and durable. I love it.

Feels like Envy has looked better than the Spectre these past 2 years. Mainly the chassis

I have the model from last year with the ryzen 5 4500U and I am very happy with it. I use it for university and some casual gaming.

“We’re gonna look at it now” is my favorite catch phrase that Lisa has and I also love seeing her smile in every video too thank you so much for another informative review

Great review as always. Regarding the Pen, that doesn't come with the $999 preconfigured model but with the $659-$699 model which can be configured to the same spec as the $999 model, but at $1029. Guess, HP is actually charging $30 for the pen.

The BS with the rubber strips on the bottom hiding screws is one of the reasons I stick with ThinkPads and recommend the same for other people.

Just ordered this config 4 days ago, except with 256 gb storage bc I can just upgrade that by myself. Can’t wait for it to come in

Great video. I recently got this laptop and I am coming from a Dell G7 2018 gaming laptop mostly for college work purposes. I have to say, I really love what HP offers with this laptop. I finally got my first touchscreen and fingerprint scanner capable laptop with this one. I love it. I’m glad it’s very upgradeable like my G7.

Darn. They ditched the numpad that last year's Ryzen 4000 series Envy x360 15" models had. Looks great overall.

Catching up to the latest Envy (AMD Ryzen) laptop all thanks to you Lisa.

Looks like they're not offering a SureView display option this year. That really stinks because it's the only way to get a silky smooth 120hz display on an ultrabook. Breaks my heart we're still doing 60hz in 2021.

I have 2 years old version and it is surprisingly good. One complain is only a battery life. So, this new one is certainly steal. Only make sure you get Windows 11 as only it will be available.

Glad they got rid of the numpad that forced the keyboard to be offset to the left and put speakers in its place.

I have an older model HP envy and it's great on paper but it has some issues such as a mouse freeze quirk that even a full reinstall didn't fix, the rubber feet came off leaving sticky patches, it runs hot and noisy.

So I'm torn, it provided a lot of tech for the money but I largely wished I had either a tablet or a desktop

Just a correction, it is Bluetooth 5.2

excellent review, as usual, what I don't really understand is why HP decided to put the speakers facing the bottom and not the top (they had plenty of room for that, perhaps risk of getting dust and other stuff in there ?), and I wish they would've made the display in mate and not be so reflective, well, overall, for the price, I think is worth and have one on order
