Been a plumber for over 30 years and I have a different version of those. If I still wanted to work I would definitely switch to those. I wish I had them when I was doing it full time.

These are worth double the price of a regular one piece fitting saver, those reed ones will last soo much longer and plus anything that wears you can easily replace these are a must have for quick easy fixes like this one

I've never seen that kind but I have some that work amazing. I remember back in the day having to cut and chip the old pipe out. It was a nightmare lol

This would work great for pool pipes when they break. I always hated to remake sections because there were no easy ways to rebuild the bends.

Reed is by far the best and when you need ‘em you need ‘em. And they’re not cheap… Another tool that separates the pros from the hacks.

Just a heads up to anyone who plans to get a set. The set is almost 400 US dollars. The full sets you see floating around for cheap are knock offs even if they say Reed. A friend of mine bought a cheap set and they are indeed cheaply made. You absolutely get what you pay for. I have the legit set from Reed with a few other sizes they offer. They work great. The larger ones require a little more torque from your drill but they will get the job done.

That thing is awesome. I have always wondered in spaces like this how to fix it, or if there was a way to drill and remove the old pipe and install a new one in its place without major wall surgery.

Will definitely be getting some of those Reed pipe savers.

I love that tool. I have it in 2" for pool plumbing repairs. I have saved $75 valves, and extra work by having one. I hate when I see multiple couplings in a straight piece of pipe. There was one job I did that literally had 4 couplings in a 2' straight section. One of those couplings was leaking. I cut it out, reamed the valve, and plumbed in a new section of pipe. The tool pays for itself in saved time.
