Hi, Im having 4 drives, 4TB each and selected SHR2 as my Storage pool. It says that 8TB is for available space and 8TB is used for protection. Am i still be able to create another volume using the other 8TB which is used for protection as my backup volume? Thanks a lot.

Mine has arrived just started set up drive 4 did not initialize tried it in another port says same but also said something about temperature. Do you think I got a bad drive. can I go ahead and configure volume withouth 4th drive.

I have a question, what is the difference between "Storage Pool" and "Volume". I noticed that volume is within the storage pool. Correct me if I am wrong. Storage pool is to create the RAID and you can create multiple volumes within that pool and each volume will have the RAID you set? Can I have two pools? One in RAID 1 and one in SHR, each with two 6TB HDDs?

Please make a video for using this NAS as
1. Storage server for *home office* .
2. Map NAS as network drive in all Windows computers in network.
3. Set scheduled, automatic, incremental, and encrypted back up *FROM* NAS *TO* Google Drive. To protect my data from *Ramsomware, Home Fire etc* (while making sure that Google *can't* read my data).

Triplem. how long did it take you to create the storage pool. I have two new 8tb drives running this process for the last 12hours and they are only at 80%. is that normal?
