THANK YOU!!! I wish all manufacturers put this much effort into their install videos. Nicely done!!! Now where is the video on installing the diverter and trim? This video is kind of useless without that.
NOTE: I found a video showing the installation of the trim kit on another site. Search for "shower valve set too deep how to fix" (by the tile coach). The video isn't designed to show the install of this trim kit, but he has to do it during the video and he explains it very well. It's a shame that Delta didn't bother to do this, but for anybody that's frustrated trying to find an install video of the trim/valve for this rough-in, try this link/search.

What is the little white stem inside the non water stop version of this? Instructions say nothing about it. Should that be installed when pressure testing?

At approximately 2:15-2:20 a shower set up is shown. What Delta fixtures are these?

I installed the valve at the depth suggested then installed 1/2” Hardie backer. I now have 3/4 inch of plaster guard that is proud of the Hardie. My tile and Thinset will make up about 1/2” of that number. My question: if my plaster guard is 1/4” proud of finished wall, will I have any issues with finish trim?

I am facing this issue- we are renovating the bathrooms, the constructors put new delta valve for the two bathrooms and the day after that we noticed kitchen cold tab is having warm/hot water. The constructors stated that he didn’t touch kitchen so it’s not his issue; but this only happened after he put on new valves for the new bathrooms, not they are still at demo stage, I don’t know how to find which valve is causing the issue

May I request a slight modification to the Delta design? I use Delta valves exclusively in my bathroom renovations. On my latest project, I put in a diverter valve, supplied by PEX pipes. I wanted to make sure I had what was needed in terms of length, but will point out that if you are even a tiny bit too long, it will have the effect of angling the valve upwards - the dual stiffness of the PEX pipes is that strong. This isn't helped by the design of the valve, which only has 2 mounting legs on the top part of the valve, thus almost encouraging an upward lift if the pressure is there. And then there is the similarly shoddy construction of the mixing valve "mount". They need to beef up both of these and return to the days when there were very stiff mounting points for both the top and bottom of the valves.

Do you need a cartridge on both sides
I wanted bought a shower faucet T17T299-bl
& I wanted to add a handheld to that
T1799-bl
& so delta told me to get the R10000
To make them work
I did, my contractor said that was the wrong part so I call again they told me to get the R22000 so I did & now he said it doesn’t come with cartridges & it need 2 he’s charging 250 extra for lost time & I don’t know what I really needed for this I call delta again & is a new story of what I need ???
So how do you make this work???

Im a remodeling contractor and we got a plumber for one of these valves. The 2 selector is a major headache. The valve is next to the studs so the plumber put the hand set on the right instead of routing it around. Now we have to order a 150$ 3 way selector... They need to make it so the motion restriction is like a ring you can pullout and snap back in. Also, im the tile guy and an extra half inch on the valve trim ring would help. My tile joint ended up very near the valve edge and luck i could hide it caulking around the ring. Im disappointed because i alway push delta on my clients because its been great and low hassle, long support. But this is a big negative, and i look bad

I have a showerhead and handheld sprayer, so we are using the 3 way settting. We have always had an issue of the diverter not working. Water always comes out of the showerhead and handheld at the same time no matter what setting the diverter is at. However, after watching this video and comparing to photos I took of the installation process, it seems that the contractor capped off the left side and not the right. Would this cause the diverter to not work properly?

Please dont ever use galvanized iron for water lines. They corrode and will eventually either leak or they will just rust close and not allow any water to come through. CPVC is also notoriously bad because over time it becomes brittle and will leak.

For water lines please use either copper (the best option) pex (good option although not my favorite) or PVC (try to avoid using pvc for water lines however it is much better than CPVC)

Skipped the important part. Like which port goes th the hand held. Which port goes to the body sprayers. Just cut to it fully hooked up? That's not an installation video!
