Jira Training - How to Start with Components
Показать описание
Can you create a Sub Project in Jira?
No, but hold on, there is a kind of alternative in Jira called Components. A Component is just a tag, similar to labels, but with a nice difference. Components have extra functionality, which maybe you have been looking for something like this for ages. For example, each Component can have a different "Component lead" and "Default assignee."
What does it mean? For example, if you are an app developer, you can create inside your project two kinds of separate "Sub Projects" called Backed and Frontend and later set your Scrum board or use a quick filter (or a Swimlane), so it can help you manage to teams inside one project. In my opinion, absolutely must-have functionality for larger projects and teams.
In this video, I will show you to set Component in Jira in 3 simple steps. A minor correction of which I was not aware. Components are available for all projects, not just Scrum or Kanban. You need to go to the project settings and add them from the menu.
Let me know in the comments what your approach to Components may share your tip too.
