Torch down is illegal in many places. You have to get a special permit and take a lot of precautionary measures to do it. Many buildings have burnt Down Because of it. It’s a good system but because you can heat up old insulation, old wood and other things you can create a very intense and hot fire that becomes uncontrollable very quickly especially on older structures with built up roofs.

I had a " rubber roof " put on over my addition because it's low pitch. That's what he's doing.

It's just torch down and you don't have to be a master or a badass to put it down. It is quite easy actually.

If the people that do your roof heat both sides of the roofing material record it and sue them or put it in your contract that they only get paid if they apply the material properly - which in this case is to heat the side meant to adhere to the roof below - if they do both sides the material cracks & shrinks to leak everywhere within a year 😢
