Caution on the rotating of tires, bc putting a worn tire on the front can be really bad for steering/traction. Losing traction in the rear is usually correctable but traction loss on a front wheel is almost always a no-win. I usually wait until the rear tire is worn, buy a new tire for the front, then migrate the older front tire to the rear. Cheers!

I use a section of inner tube on my seat post to mark the height, and keep dirt out - zero cost vs £5 for the Fisik version

i don't agree with the tyre swap id want more grip on front end. so if the rear tyre has worn id put the front one on the back but id put the knew one of the front.

I use a slice of an used tube (1-in or less) around the seatpost clamp to prevent water and dirt from entering the down tube and prevent seizing of the seatpost.

Excellent video. I never thought of using a shower cap to prevent contamination of the brake rotor when I clean the drivetrain.

A great video; well done. Hell man, I used to work in a bike shop as a mechanic and I learned some new tricks by watching this. Can't get much better than that.

Very nicely presented. Thanks a lot. Inspires us to do self care of the bike rather than mechanic

1) I used clingfilm to protect brake rotors when 2) Oven degreasers are good also you can get enviromental friendly... 3) Now and then I use a tray degrease bag and place the rear cassette, chain and front chain ring (Peddle removed) then add the degrease solution and leave in bag for 45 min.. 4) Kitchen citrus degreasers when washing the bike.. Environmental friendly and cheaper than then bike specific degreasers... Does the same job... 5) Use two nail brushes cable tided together to clean the chain washing the bike (Just in case.. brushes point towards and chain in-between brushes).. Then wipe down wish a small sponge soaked in soapy water after.... 6) If you have deep rim wheels I use cable shrink wrap and use a windproof lighter to shrink around valve stem to prevent rattle...

I would add the torque wrench as one of the most important tools for people with carbon bikes. Overtightening the top cap bolt on the steerer tube can result in cracks which can lead to fork failure and possibility of a serious accident.

Excellent hacks. I never thought of the shower cap or the bidon tool holder 👍🏻😁

Another great video, thanks Ollie. Some great uses for old inner tubes in the comments. Just going back to my workshop to fish the last one I changed out of the bin. I am currently riding a tube with two patches on, how many would you use before replacing?

Could use a thorough (or, in _Ollie Speak, _ "thuruh") video on Di2 System bike assembly in its various forms (battery & control box location, various buttons).

Swapping tires is unsafe, depending which one is swapped for which one. Putting the front one on the back is ok, but the opposite is where the risk is because over half it's lifespan the tire will start to flatten where the rubber meets the road, which in turn if placed on the front can result in a less-than-ideal grip surface.

Whenever my back tire is due to be changed I swap the front in the back and add a new tire in the front.
