From the album Vauxhall & I.

Lyrics:

There's gonna be some trouble
A whole house will need re-building
And everyone I love in the house
Will recline on an analyst's couch quite soon
Your father cracks a joke
And in the usual way
Empties the room

Tell all of my friends
I don't have too many
Just some rain-coated lovers' puny brothers
Dallow, Spicer, Pinkie, Cubitt
Rush to danger
Wind up nowhere
Patric Doonan, raised to wait
I'm tired again, I've tried again, and

Now my heart is full
Now my heart is full
And I just can't explain
So I won't even try to

Dallow, Spicer, Pinkie, Cubitt
Every jammy Stressford poet
Loafing oafs in all-night chemists
Loafing oafs in all-night chemists
Underact, express depression
Ah, but Bunnie I loved you
I was tired again
I've tried again, and

Now my heart is full
Now my heart is full
And I just can't explain
So I won't even try to

Could you pass by?
Could you pass by?
Could you pass by?
Could you pass by?
Could you pass by?
Oh

Now my heart is full
Now my heart is full
And I just can't explain
So so
So so so so so

For those who believe everything happens for a reason...
A lifelong, close friend introduced me to Moz and the Smiths in 1992. We were college roommates when Vauxhall & I came out in '94 and listened to it on endless loop. We went to see Morrissey at Electric Factory in Philly in Sept '97. Amazing, amazing concert. I lost my hearing for 48 hours after the show, as we were in the front row trying to storm the stage.

Fast forward to the summer of 2015. We lost touch for a number of years as the twists & turns of life, having a family, etc had prevented us from getting together on a more frequent basis. I had not listened to Moz in quite a while, but one day for whatever reason I put on this song. It hit me so hard I basically played it at least once a day for the next six weeks. I remember thinking, I don't know why I am playing this song all the time, but I feel like I almost have to do it. Then came the phone call that my fiend of nearly 30 years had unexpectedly passed. After the shock wore off, a few weeks later I understood why this song was suddenly back in my life as exactly this time....
the lyrics were screaming at me.

This song gives me shivers every time I hear it.

Loafing oafs in all-night chemists, under-act express depression, plus some Brighton rock references, brilliant lyrics

i live in stretford (no coincidence!) theres a late night chemist literally round the corner and everytime i pass it i sing this to myself. I totally believe this was written when Moz met Jake Walters. Now my Heart is Full - he's found love for the first time and is happy. It's a joyous song. He's happy :)

Possibly my favourite Morrissey song and one of my favourite songs of all time. It reminds me of me of my father, who heavily influenced my music taste.

Truly a great song. As amazing as any poem by Rilke, Rimbaud, or Heine.

those first 6 years of Morrissey's solo career up to and including this album were equal to and occasionally better than The smiths ...absolute peak of his powers, loafing oafs in all night chemists indeed
