I really like your videos a lot! You have taught me so many valuable knots. The Siberian Hitch is a knot I have been looking for to tie off my ridge line for my tarp along with the Taughtline hitch or Trucker's hitch. These are soundly in my arsenal now. Thanks for all your videos. Knot tying has always been a challenge to me, but I think they are so important to know in life. You have made learning them easier. I think simple is best, so if a knot is too complicated, then why learn it when there are simpler knots that do the same thing? Thanks for your channel.

I'm stuck on step 1, the lining up of the tree. Tree won't move. What now? It's getting dark and cold out here in the woods. 🤪 great video!

Johnny Debt is still the best place to go to when you want to learn how to tie a knot in 5 Minutes. Thank you very much for your excellent videos!

Best technique for the evenk that I have found. Thank you! There is a turn the hand free fall version but I really like the positive wrap around and pull through version you have demonstrated.

Went on bushcraft course recently and we were taught it by beginning with all 3 strands over our hand, then twisting hand to left then back, to bring live end across, then bringing hand up... then pulling bight through and cinching it up.

I prefer the knot based on an overhand knot in stead of the figure of 8 .in my opinion it is a better knot

thanks so much! you made this look so easy. I've downloaded a lot of your knots to practice with and that's what it takes! practice, practice.

This hitch will also work with a delivery truck or Stake Bed Truck. The working end will go around the side rails instead of a tree. Its a great knot/hitch for many uses.

You seem to have added an extra wrap compared to the reference video of the demonstrated knot on the Wikipedia entry. Because of that extra wrap, your version doesn't explode quite so easily. Still thanks for showing the knot. It's all grist to my mill.

Hi, John, I like the way you do it better than the other when you "point your hand to the ground and then to the sky", etc...Hugs!!

No thumbs down but would be good to see an alternative method for tying it above your head as ridge lines often are.. I’ve got the basis of the knot though 👍

Thank you for the videos, I have been learning to make camping easier with my son. Is there a reason for not doing a farrimond hitch on both sides? Why start out with this and then do a farrimond or cawley hitch on the other side?

Great instructional video, a lot better than the ones where people are like magicians hiding the important bits, thank you

I learned it just a bit different, but it seems to come out the same in the end, anyhow. I like how you construct yours better!!! Thanks again Doctor, great explanation!
