Flying High - (An 80's Tribute)

One of the hidden gems of the 80's is Opus' "Flying High". Everyone knows Opus for "Live is Life" which is a great song in its own right, but I actually prefer this hard driven ballad.

"We came together to turn the world around"...damn that opening gets me every time I hear it. Do you remember being young with friends and having a world of possibilities in front of you?

It's also one of only a handful of songs where the live version is better than the recorded. I actually was going to do this to the recorded (since its shorter) but after listening to it again I realized it was not as good; lacked the heart of the live version which takes us back to outdoor stadium shows.

Hopefully this video takes you back to a day when friendships and relationships were forged face to face with many hours of togetherness, just hanging out...no one on their phones. Back to when a long distance relationship meant letters and the occasional over priced phone call on the weekends.

God I miss those days.
