England seem to play like they don't care during the matches which don't matter. Nations League = relegated (but who cares?) > WC = Played great, came in guns blazing smashing Iran 6-2 > Euro Qualifiers = Beat Italy both times, then beat Malta and North Macadonia 4-0 and 7-0 respectively, once we qualified we played like it didn't matter anymore (and it didn't, we had the Germany tickets already).

As a fan of Serbia, I think that England is a big favorite only on paper. Although Serbia plays a bad defense and is working a lot to improve it, I think that the English footballers had a very difficult season, so they will need time to get into the rhythm. While Serbia, unlike previous competitions, has no injuries. So my prediction is 2:1 for England or 1:1. For England, Foden will score the goal, while Mitrović will outrun the English defense. I'm genuinely concerned about this opening game now. When the draw was initially made and after the campaign we'd had qualifying I was pretty confident in fact very confident we would make at the very least the semis possibly the final and win it then march rolls around and we play horrendously in both friendlies and now we've limped past the worst Bosnia team in recent memory and lost to a mediocre Iceland team (again) at Wembley. Combined with the injury issues and pretty poor defensive options it just screams a bad opening game, or at best a nailbiter 2-1 win with a last minute penalty or something of that nature. Usually positive but I think we could be in real trouble against Serbia and Denmark now.

Good analysis… I agree with England probably having troubles in camp, tensions might be high… England have historically put way too much pressure on themselves. Everyone expect Serbia to loose so no pressure on Serbia… my point is that this is a dangerous situation for England and in situations like this it’s never good. I am predicting a 1-1 draw.

Serbia has some very good individual quality like Mitrović, Vlahović, Tadić and some others.
But as a team they really lack a lot and their coach has proven before to have poor tactics.
Serbia can surprise anyone but England should win at least 2-0 or 3-1 if England shows up to play football
