This video will show you where the 4th root, 5th root key is on a Casio Scientific calculator. You will find it on the second function of the power key. So press shift and then the power key. The example include working out the fourth root of 2401 and fifth root of 347.

Clicking that button for me brings slightly different symbol. X is on the left rather than that little square you are seeing left of the root equation. If I move the cursor then to the left, to enter 4, the whole equation disappears off screen and I just see my 4 entered on screen. Any ideas? Maybe it's the mode my Casio fx-83GT plus is set to?
