super to show this here! Great stuff. All the best from Germany!

I was one of the lucky attendees and drove the white m3 they have. I am honestly grateful that NextMove gave me the opportunity and solidified my decision to wait on my m3 reservation. I never drove any EV before that event and now I can say I pretty much drove any car available on the market, I am purely electrified for good :-)

Thanks for the coverage guys, you are AWESOME!

great event! Shows people how far range and autopilot have come, no negative news coverage possible for these kind of efforts.

Zac you're such a positive guy you're awesome. Thank you for the great work that you do.

Seems they ignored a few variables. Weight of drivers. Plus maintaining speed uses less energy than accelerating, so a car that is stopping and changing drivers and starting again is going to use more energy than a car that doesn't stop and go as much.

yay! go model 3 go! - and now I'll watch the video which will be great :D

Driving at highway speed becomes half the efficient (500km) why not tesla introduces a two speed transmission or a dual motor one specialized for high speed and one for low speed together they will make a consistent efficiency graph. The first one will also be ingenius and also it will not cause any pollution.

Model 3 isnt a hatchback. the bed footage is a model S.

88.6Wh/km for the model S, but the guy never mentions the battery size of the model 3s in the test so the 1001 km is arbitrary? Also the tyres are ballooning, guessing 60 PSI or thereabout. At low speed rolling resistance is 1/2-3/4 of total drag, so pumping the tyres that hard can reduce energy use by half. Did they use more tricks? like removing inner wheel bearing seals and oiling them instead of using axle grease? I'm not entirely convinced this is not a staged test, but nevertheless impressive.

NB.: If you intend to go that slow, better get a velomobile trike with E-assist. It uses 7.5Wh/mile at 33mph.

38 mph. Is that the ideal speed for Tesla efficiency or all EV's?

As a German I have to apologize for our accent 😅

OK, I get that but seriously why do this at all. Everyone knows that cars driven slowly get improved mileage, gas, diesel, hybrids and of course electrics. It's more about the physics of drag then the efficiency of the power train at slow speeds. Yes it's neat to see this but in the practical world... well it ain't practical.

1000 Km Well now I wish this would make the papers.. Why because my mother told me she would never get a EV unless it could go 1000 KM.. Now I need to have this validated by CSA Canada.. Sorry she does not believe others. Range is the thing here and 38 Mph = 61 kmh or was it 38 Kmh.. (germany is metric.)

Interesting stuff but you should have definitely NOT shown or discussed how they managed to make the car function after bypassing the safety features of the car, there are idiots in the real world that will use that information dangerously. Very poor for that.

Hard to understand him....it's 701 miles on one charge. Never stopped... 38 miles per hour
