AACSB 2020 Business Accreditation Standards: Faculty Qualifications and Sufficiency (Standard 3)

The second webinar in the series focuses on Standard 3 (Faculty and Professional Staff Resources) with particular emphasis on Faculty Qualification and Tables 3.1 and 3.2 (previously 15.1 and 15.2). Key discussion points include:

- 2013 vs 2020: What stays the same? What has changed?
- Key points to consider when transitioning to Tables 3.1 and 3.2 (old tables 15.1 and 15.2)
- The focus on ‘discipline’ rather than ‘department’ or ‘subject group’ within the 2020 Accreditation Standards.

About the speakers:
Sarah Vaughan is Associate Dean Accreditations at ICN Business School, France. She has almost thirty years’ experience at senior management level across portfolios of programme design, faculty, internationalisation and strategy and has lead initial and maintenance accreditation processes for national and international bodies (AACSB, EFMD). Sarah currently is an AACSB mentor for schools in Europe, Middle East and Canada and is a peer-reviewer for French and European accreditation bodies. She has been on the leadership of AACSB Associate Deans Affinity group since 2014. Vaughan is a graduate of the University of Leicester (UK) and holds a master’s degree from the University of Poitiers (France).

Joanne Powell is a senior advisor with Quality Education Development (QED), a long-established advisory company that supports business schools with continuous improvement, international accreditation and leadership development. Joanne has extensive experience in education, training and assessment. Prior to joining QED, she worked as an educator, a chartered accountant and as Head of Assessment for Chartered Accountants Ireland. Her leadership philosophy focuses on deepening awareness of each individual’s core leadership characteristics and values to raise overall effectiveness and impact. She is an expert in international Business School accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS and EFMD Accredited) – working with teams in international business schools across Europe, Asia and the Americas to support them in achieving their accreditation objectives.
